Wayne Gallegos

Wayne M. Gallegos age 52, of Amalia, NM passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph A. Gallegos and Cora Gallegos.

Wayne is survived by his wife Lola; step-son Carlos Amador; his son Derik Gallegos (Erica) and daughters Ozelle Segura (Julian) and Amber Martinez (Nick); grandchildren Derik, Dominic, Eliana, Isaac, Xayvion, Abel, Amara, Evanie and Wayne; his brother Robert Vigil (Peggy), sisters Sonya Archuleta, Rosene Vigil, Jeannie Walker (James) and Elena Vigil.

His heart and soul were in Amalia, where he grew up and ran the farm and ranch with his parents, as well as learned the trucking business which he loved so much.  He attended UNM where he received his degree that put him on a path to many different career choices that he excelled at, but none called to his heart like his home in Amalia.  He spent his last years living a simpler lifestyle running the ranch his parents left him.  Wayne was a well-known member of the RCCLA and was involved in many Northern NM Organizations.  Anyone who knew Wayne can attest to his wonderful sense of humor and his kind and caring nature.  He was quick to laugh and could bring a smile to anyone’s face.  Wayne had many good friends that could always count on him to lend a hand or an ear.  He would leave everyone with good advice and good laughs.  Wayne was part of the heartbeat of Amalia, he is loved and will be missed by many.

A private family service will be held with burial at the Amalia Cemetery. A public service will be announced as soon as it becomes available.
