Virginia Ortiz

Virginia Ortiz, age 80, a resident of Ranchos De Taos, passed away on January 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband Pat Ortiz; parents, Amadeo and Amalia Valerio; brother Andy Valerio and sisters, Judy Wilson and Lynn Holquin.

Virginia worked for many years as a teacher at the St. Francis Catholic School and then went onto work for the Taos Public Schools.

Virginia is survived by her children, Karen Liz Chavez and husband Joseph and Martin Valerio and wife Jackie. Grandchildren, Adam, Joseph, Andrew, Zachary, Victoria, Sierra and Hunter; great grandchildren, Noah, Rowan, Chili, and Flora; she is also survived by sisters, Debbie Valerio, Yvette Tafoya (Benji), Valerie Duncan (Gary) and Violette Valerio - Hirschfeld (Matt), plus many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited Friday February 7, 2020 at 10:00AM at St. Francis de Asis Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, with burial to follow at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery.
