Trankie Romero

Trankie Romero, 44, a resident of Phoenix, AZ but originally from Taos, passed away unexpectedly on July 8, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marina and Jose Cordova and Viola and Henry Romero; aunts and uncles Josephine Cordova, Loretta Mondragon, Ted Cordova, Antonio Cordova and Peggy Struck.

Trankie owned and operated his own Salon for many years in downtown Phoenix.  While attending High School, he was an outstanding athlete, he excelled in wrestling, cross country and track.  Upon graduation, he attended UNM in Albuquerque, then moved to Phoenix.  He was well loved by everyone and had the compassion to help people in need.  Trankie was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed having family and friends over for gatherings. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his parents Tranquelino and Martha Romero; partner of 11 years Bret Thomas; siblings Denise McIndoe, Esperanza Romero, Benito Romero (Rhonda); nieces and nephews Ryan McIndoe, Marina McIndoe, Maricela Mayers (Mev), Tranquelino Romero, Daniela Romero, Ariana Romero, Jacob Romero, Rio Romero; great-niece Mazarine Mayers; close friend Steve Evans and many other loving relatives and cherished friends.

Private family services will be held.
