Stella Alaniz

Stella Alaniz, 79, a resident of Ranchos De Taos, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Alaniz Sr, sons, David Simon and Levi Joseph Alaniz; grandson Thomas Mondragon; son in law Anthony Mondragon; and parents Tranquilino and Eliria Gonzales. Stella was a very hard-working woman, with the help of her husband Roy, they both ran and operated the R&R gas station. She was the rock of her family. She loved all her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew her.  She is survived by her children, Lillian Alaniz, Roy A. Alaniz Jr. (Bertina), Andrew Alaniz (Patsy), Debra Mondragon; daughter-in-law, Ruby Ann Alaniz, and Dino Archuleta who she considered a son; grandchildren, Andy Alaniz, Roy Alaniz III, Aaron Alaniz (Michele), Anthony Mondragon (Monique), Isaac Alaniz (Anna), and Bethany Alaniz (Andre); great-grandchildren, Brielle, Aravei, Anthony Jr, Dylan, Aalijah, Noah, and one great-granddaughter on the way; sisters, Theresa Archuleta (Henry), Betty Ledoux, and Linda Martinez; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Friday September 11, 2020 at 6:00pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  Due to COVID-19 restrictions only 50 people will be allowed to attend and facemasks are required.  Burial will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 at 10:00am at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery.  The family of Stella Alaniz has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. www.devargastaos.com 1-866-657-4019
