Rudy A. Romero

Rudy Alex Romero, 57, of Vadito, current resident of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, passed away at his home on January 10, 2022.  Rudy was a Tender and Doting Father and Grandfather, Kind and Loving Husband, Affectionate Son, Jokester Uncle, Caring and helpful Brother, Warm-hearted Nephew, Generous Appreciative and Devoted Friend.

Amberlee, heartbroken, called family members on Monday January 10th stating that her father had passed away that morning.  Still now, several days later, it is hard to believe it’s true.  Rudy seemed to be that one person that would live forever.  Rudy’s recent health struggles took him too soon.

Rudy was a fierce protector of his family and although he was not easy for everyone, he loved everyone, gave to everyone, and forgave everyone.

Rudy is survived by daughter Amberlee; son-in-law Travis; grandchildren Amelia Rae, Travis, and Ayana; Amberlee’s mother Michelle and her daughter Jalyssa; siblings Janette Luna, Celestino Romero, Viola Escobar and her husband Joe; Joe Romero and his wife Martha, David Romero and his wife Susie, Cleo Hernandez (Manuel), Rumaldo “Chopo” Romero (Debbie), and Frances “Pancha” Thomas and several nephews and nieces; Special Tia Angelica Rodriguez.

Rudy was preceded in death by his daughter Adrianna Romero; parents Frances and Jose Rumaldo Romero; grandparents Cliofas & Adauto Romero, Rebecca & Juan Antonio Romero; siblings Eloy Romero, Carolina Romero, Ricky Romero; in-laws Manuel Hernandez, Sr., and Debbie Romero; nephews Manuel (Manny) Hernandez, Jr., Jamie Trujillo and Bryan Romero.

Rudy was loved dearly by his family.  To us he was kind, loving, helpful, giving, funny, consoling, a defender and shoulder of support and comfort.  Grief is too weak a word to express what we feel.  Condolences may be sent to the family to: PO Box 1301, Mora, NM 87732.

Public Visitation and Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday January 19, 2022 from 4pm to 5pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
