Rose Duran, 74, a resident of Lower Ranchitos, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timoteo and Adelida Garcia and brother and sister, Leo Garcia, and Pauline Romero. Rose was a lady of many hidden talents and was an amazing cook. She enjoyed remodeling and redecorating her house quite frequently. An amazing seamstress, she especially enjoyed making a lot of her own blankets and curtains for her house. She especially enjoyed watching her Denver Bronco games on Sundays. But most of all she enjoyed writing letters to children and grandchildren on a regular basis. Her smile, her beauty, and her touch will be greatly missed by all her family. Rose is survived by her husband, Manuel Duran; children, Yvette Duran, and Curtis Duran (Jen); grandchildren, Sherrie Duran (Joe), Sidney Chavez (Ethan), and Ashley Duran; great grandchildren, Andrew and Jr Montoya; her siblings, Eddie Garcia (Elsa), Ernest Garcia (Mildred), Margaret Garcia, Timothy Garcia, and Michael Garcia; plus, many other loving relatives and friends. Prayer service will be held on Monday June 28, 2021, at 6pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.
