Rolando Fernandez

Rolando “Chuy” Fernandez of Taos, NM peacefully departed this life on June 22, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Onesimo and Manuelita Fernandez; his sisters, Gloria Cordova, Rosabel Valerio, Marcella Sanchez; and brother, Jake Fernandez. Chuy was a lifelong resident of Taos who found joy in camping, hunting, fishing, and exploring the mountains. His passions included carving, drawing, and cooking. Known for his generous spirit, Chuy was always ready to help those in need, embodying kindness and love toward everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of gentle strength, having touched countless lives with his compassion. Chuy is survived by his wife, Marie Claire Maurice; daughter, Celina Fowler (Greg); granddaughters, Trista-Shae and Arabella; as well as numerous siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Rosary will be recited on Sunday July 14th at 6pm at the Chapel of Nuestra Senora de Los Dolores in Taos, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday July 15th at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taos NM, burial will follow at Canon Cemetery.
