Robert “Bob” Bullington, Sr. took his final journey from the temporary dwelling of his human body and this earth, taking on his new healed spiritual body December 1, 2020 at the age of 80. He passed after a 2 month-plus battle from emergency surgery. His body could no longer endure. Bob was able to spend his last weeks under the care of his wife, Jo (JoLene) Bullington and son, Robert Bullington, Jr., a privilege never to be regretted.
After graduating from high school, Bob enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country in Korea between wars. He worked with computers, breaking codes. Computers became his profession for many years thereafter. The following are decorations, medals, badges, commendations, citations and ribbons that were authorized: Sharpshooter (Rifle), Marksman (Carbine), Good Conduct Medal. Bob was honorably discharged in 1963.
Born and raised in Texas, Bob later moved his family to Red River, New Mexico. He later retired with his wife to Alamosa, Colorado to be near his son, Robert Bullington, Jr. He was a member of the San Luis Valley Church of Christ. The Bullingtons made many cherished friends (chosen family) during those many years and shared many laughs and memories which they hold dear.
Bob is best described by others as someone who made people laugh. He had a quick wit and was a master of puns. He loved sports, mostly football, and was patriotic to a fault.
Bob Bullington is survived by his wife of 58 ½ years, Jo (JoLene) Bullington, his son, Robert L. Bullington, Jr (Laura), his brother, Gene Bullington (Winnie), his grandchildren: Autumn Lanning-Bullington, Jordan, Makenna and Michael Mileski, nieces: Cynthia Dombrowski (William), Lori Richman (Dan), Dana Watson (Mark), Shelly Clemens, nephew: Paul Bullington (Lisa), Kenneth Bullington, and cousin: Sally Martin, and dog Jess.
