Raymond Orlando Parraz

It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond Orlando Parraz announces his passing on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico at the age of 77.  Raymond was born on Monday, May 27, 1946 in Taos, New Mexico.

Raymond is preceded in death by both parents, Vicente Parraz and Marcelina Chavez; Daughter Rayla; Sister Concha and Brother Pancho.  He is survived by his Wife, Irene Parraz; five children, Denise Frank, husband Michael; Darren Parraz; Robert Padilla, wife Shannon; Oscar Parraz and Simon Parraz; four grandchildren, Zach, Hannah, Adam and Justin; Sister Evelyn Archuleta; Brother Robert Parraz, wife Kay; Brother Tommy Parraz, wife Francis; Sister Lola Parraz and Sister Anna Romero, husband J.D.   He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members.

Raymond was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He was raised in New Mexico and called Taos his home.  He recently moved to Rio Rancho with Irene.  Raymond worked for many years for the Taos Municipal School District as a Teacher’s Assistant and retired in 2001.  He also coached girls’ basketball and baseball.  Raymond was an avid sports fan and was a devoted fan of the LA Rams, LA Dodgers and LA Lakers.  Raymond had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed the company of friends and family. He will be deeply missed but forever present in our thoughts and prayers.

A funeral mass and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 205 Don Fernando St., Taos, New Mexico.
