Randy Earl Lee, 62, a resident of Angel Fire, passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2024.

Randy was born in Flint, Michigan on December 3, 1961 to Earl Douglas Lee and JoAnn Mary (Tufts) Bosak. 

Randy graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in June 1980. After graduation, he moved to the Dallas, Texas area to work at a rubber manufacturing factory. He returned to Michigan and enlisted in the Army on November 29, 1983 where he served for 8 years until July 11, 1991. While in the Army, Randy served overseas, in Germany, Lebanon/Egypt and the Persian Gulf War. While in the Army, Randy earned the follow awards: Good Conduct Medal (2), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 2, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar, and Kuwait Liberation Medal-Saudi Arabia. Randy learned the trade of diesel mechanic while he was in the Army. He returned to Michigan upon honorable discharge from the Army and worked for several years at Brown and Sons Auto Parts in Flint, Michigan.

Randy moved to Angel Fire, NM at Christmas time 2007 to work and be with his sister and her family. He continued to reside there until August 13, 2024. Randy worked for Angel Fire Resort, Angel Fire Village Water Department and was currently employed at Angel Fire True Value Hardware store. 

Randy enjoyed being with his family and their pets, his friends and co-workers. He greeted others with a smile and enjoyed talking about sports with them, particularly University of Michigan sports teams, Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He was a trivia expert with these teams! Randy enjoyed all sports; he played football and baseball when he was in school and he played soccer while in the Army. Randy enjoyed attending and helping his sister and nieces with their sports and teams. Randy also enjoyed playing Chess (he was a member of the Chess team while in high school) other board/card games, listening to music (mostly rock) and telling jokes as he was witty. 

Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents and cousins. He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Bosak of Grand Blanc, Mi, his father Earl (Nancy) Lee of Tamarac, Fl, his siblings: brothers Dirk Lee of Chesterfield, Va., Devin (Kirstie) Lee of Ypsilanti, Mi, Craig (Robin) Lee of Tecumseh, Mi., and his sister, Rhonda Lee of Buckeye, Az. Randy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, one uncle, cousins and friends.

Randy will be deeply missed by all those who know him. His family extend their gratitude to all those who loved him and for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Salvation Army.

A visitation will be on Monday September 9, 2024 from 5-7pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 9:30am, Funeral Mass will follow, at Saint Mels Catholic church in Eagle Nest. Following, burial will take place at 12:30pm at the Angel Fire Veterans Cemetery. Celebration of Life/Light refreshments will be served at the Angel Fire Veterans Retreat Center.
