Peter Jeantette

Beloved by his family and devoted in service to community, lifelong parishioner of San Francisco de Asís Church, always ready to greet you with a kind smile and a helping hand, Peter Jeantette of Taos, New Mexico, surrendered his life to God at his home on December 26, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on June 27, 1945, Peter grew up in La Loma and continued to call Taos his home throughout his life. Seventy-nine years of life that were rich with experience including a successful 48-year marriage to the love of his life Cindy Jeantette, parenting five beautiful children, having a short career with the transportation department which began a long career in surgery survival, mastering a long cultivated skill of clearing out abandoned storage units at Hinds and Hinds, and always being a friend to those in need in general. Peter was a member of the Catholic Knights of Columbus and in his later years he proudly drove meal deliveries for Ancianos.

Peter was always proud to be a Jeantette and to be from La Loma. He was proud of his family and of his community. He lived his pride in action and genuine thoughtfulness and kindness. He will be missed by many.

Preceded in death by his mother Teresina Jeantette and father Jose Jeantette; mother-in-law Carolina R. Cortez; sister Berna Vojtech; and brothers Joe Jeantette and Ted Jeantette. 

Survived by his wife of 48 years, Cindy Jeantette; daughters Tabatha and Carolyn Jeantette, sons Peter M., Francisco (Stephanie), and Jeffery Jeantette; brother Leo Jeantette and sister Rose Jeantette; thirteen grandchildren Johnathan (Marina) Jeantette, Jacquelyn Jeantette, Jaimee Jeantette, Zachariah Jeantette, Mackenzie Jeantette, Izaiah Jeantette, Paige Jeantette-Coca, Angelina Jeantette-Coca, Alexa Jeantette-Coca, Drake Jeantette, Kameron Jeantette, Mikaela Ortega, Mateo Love, and Rio Love. 

Rosary will be recited on Saturday January 18, 2025 at 9am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am at San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church.
