Pacomio "Pac" Valerio

Pacomio “Pac” Margarito Valerio, age 88, a lifelong resident of Ranchos de Taos, passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2023.  He was surrounded by the love of his family.

Pac is preceded in death by his parents, Adelaida Gonzales and Inocencio Valerio; his brother, Dan Valerio; and his sisters, Estefanita Valerio and Mary Lewis.

Pac is survived by his siblings Margaret Martinez and Gilbert (Florence) Valerio; the mother of his sons, Amalia “Molly” Starr; his children, Susan DallaGuardia, Michael & Suzanne Valerio, Derrick & Bertha Valerio, and Andrew & Raquel Valerio; his twelve grandchildren, Michael (Amanda), Desiree, Paul (Autumn), Genevieve, Derek, Aaron, Mia, James, Drew, Luke, Michelle & Ivy; his eight great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Shaelynn, Jayden, Alaina, Gaitlin, Gunner, Weston, and Iris; two great-great grandchildren, Sephauni and Chauncey.  Pac is also survived by a large extended family and his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the love he shared.

Pac was born in the summer of 1935 at home in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico.  He was a master craftsman and was well known in the community for building many beautiful homes in the Taos Valley.  In addition to his many skills, he was well known as a Santero (wood carver).  He was passionate and loved to do this work.  Pac created countless works of art and one-of-a-kind masterpieces, which he often gifted to family and friends.  Pac was also an excellent cook and blessed his family with many delicious meals.  Pac loved spending time hunting and fishing with his sons and grandkids.

Rosary will be recited on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 6pm at San Francisco de Asís Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10:00am at San Francisco de Asís Catholic Church, interment will follow at El Descanso Cemetery.
