Mike Lucero

Mike Lucero 71, a resident of Amalia passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 31, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his parents Malaquias and Natividad Lucero; and sister Barbara Lucero Molina.

Mike loved to spend time with his family, as well as spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. 

He is survived by his children Michelle Martinez (Stephen), Victoria Lucero and Samantha Mascarenas (Nathaniel); grandchildren Anthony Martinez, Patrick Martinez (Kiley), Matthew Vargas, Marc Ryan Vargas, Sean Vargas, Natalia Mascarenas, Chevelle Mascarenas and Jaxx Mascarenas; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings Rita Rivera (Joe), Pauline Lucero (Adelmo) and Louie Lucero (Gloria); plus many other loving relatives and friends. 

Serving the family as honorary pallbearers will be, Dino Maes, Wally Maes, Marcos Molina, Christopher Lucero, Stephen Martinez, Nathaniel Mascarenas. 

Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 9:00am, Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am, held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla; interment will follow at the Amalia Cemetery.  A meal in honor of Mike will be served after the burial at the Amalia Community Center.
