Miguel "Tony Moly" Tafoya

Miguel “Tony Moly” Tafoya age 85, a resident of Talpa, passed away unexpectedly on November 26, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Tafoya; son Ronnie Tafoya; granddaughter Tawny Tafoya; parents Tomas Montoya and Carolina Cortez; adopted mother Guadalupita Tafoya; siblings Carla Graham and Dan Cortez.

Miguel worked in the mining industry for many years, including  2 years for Exxon Corp in Barrancas South America after his retirement from the Moly Mine in Questa. He also served with the New Mexico National Guard and enjoyed hunting and spending time with family.

He is survived by his children Barbara Santistevan and Lawrence Tafoya; grandchildren Valerie Sisco (Pete), Ronika Santistevan (Oscar), Christopher Tafoya (Melissa), Lynett Tafoya Barazza (Matt), and Orlando Tafoya Reed; great-grandchildren DeAngelo Sisco, Brandy Ray Sisco, Miguel Antonio Sisco, Isiah Chavez, Shantell Chavez, Isaac Chavez, Harley Angel Chavez, Carlos Guerreca; Miguel Alderette, Unelica Alderette, Heavenly Barraza, Mateo Barraza, Jason Reed Tafoya, Jenea Reed Tafoya; beloved dog Lola; siblings Ray Cortez (Maryann), Joe Miera, Cindy Jeantette (Peter), Jimmy Miera (Dianna), Bernice Valerio (Armando); brother-in-law Ruben Graham and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Private family services will be held.
