Michael Gulevich passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from an aortic aneurism at his home in El Prado on November 7, 2020. He was 59 years old.
Originally from California, Michael graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a B.A. in English literature. After many adventures abroad and a wide variety of jobs, he established his own editorial business, preparing scientific papers for publication. Known affectionately about town as “Big Mike,” Michael made many friends during the fifteen years he lived here. He worked part-time for a couple of seasons at the Taos ski lodge and was a member of the golf club. He will be remembered for his easy-going nature, good heart, sense of humor, and generous spirit.
Michael was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents and his father, George Gulevich. Surviving relatives include his mother, Elizabeth Gulevich, his sister Tanya Gulevich, his brother Steven Gulevich and Steve’s wife Trish Gulevich, as well his niece and nephew Nicole and Grant Gulevich. He will be mourned and missed by his family as well as by the many friends he made and kept at every stage of his life.
A memorial service is being arranged at the Taos golf club. A service will also be held at the Gates of Heaven cemetery in Los Altos, California at a later date. Condolence mail to the family may be sent to: P.O. Box 1288, Los Altos CA, 94023.
