Micayla Michelle Salazar, age 58, born in Taos, New Mexico on November 13, 1963, peacefully went to join her Lord and Savior, her beloved father Wallace Salazar and beautiful sister Jennifer Salazar on June 28, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was a faithful mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend to many.
Micayla is survived and devotedly remembered by her son, Christopher Lee Lopez Jr.; Mother, Ursula “Lula” Salazar; Brother, Waldy Salazar (Lynda Salazar); Sister, Doreen Salazar (Mike Prieto); Nephews, Justin Trujillo, Sheldon and Lyndon Salazar. Great-nieces and great-nephew, Abrianna Medina, Joziah Martinez and Analia Trujillo. She also will be greatly missed by Chris Lopez, father to her son, her dog Batson, and many treasured family members and friends.
Micayla was an independent, hard-working, beautiful and strong-willed woman of many passions to include: dancing, love for animals, drawing, cleaning to perfection, word search puzzles, organizing her collection of birdhouses in her backyard, advocating for everyone and everything, reading Christian devotions, listening to Christian music, and walking in the Lords presence.
Her love for life, family, and the Lord was contagious. She was a true prayer warrior who had a profound impact on others and blessed so many lives.
Rest in paradise Micayla, you are in the arms of Lord where you longed to be!
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at French Mortuary/Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Friday July 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
Graveside Service will be held on Saturday September 17, 2022 at 10:30am at Los Cordovas Cemetery, in Taos, New Mexico. A meal in her honor will follow at the Llano Quemado Community Center.
