Mary Ann Sarver

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Ann Sarver on February 19, 2025 at the age of 87 in Costilla, NM. Mary resided in Deming, NM for over 30 years and recently succumbed to cancer.

Mary is survived by her Spouse, Esta Guy; her daughter, daughters’ husband, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mary is predeceased by her son and sons’ wife.

Mary was a source of strength for many around her. She inspired humor in her interactions and always said, “Oh well, if you can’t have fun then there is something wrong with you”. 

Mary loved to cook and was well known in downtown Deming for the casual cuisine she and her partner offered at their Veranda Deli. In her off time, Mary was an avid gardener and loved to end her day sitting in the shade with a cold drink watching the hummingbirds that would frequent their yard. One of her great joys was to go rocking, exploring the outdoors looking for that special rock.

Mary will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
