Mary Ann McCann

On August 21, 2024 our beloved mother/sister/friend, Mary Ann Grissom McCann peacefully left this world surrounded by her children. Mary Ann was born October 16, 1950 in Albuquerque, NM and raised in Moriarty, NM. She attended the University of NM and graduated with a Bachelors Degree and after a Masters Degree from University of New Mexico. In 1978 she moved to Taos, got married and raised three kids as a single Mom. For 25 years Mary Ann worked for Taos Municipal Schools as the student nutrition director. For the last 24 years, she battled Breast Cancer, yet she never let cancer define her story. She persevered and helped many others in their fight. As a pillar of the Taos Community, Mary Ann was involved in the church, rotary club, various charities and multiple advocacy groups. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her Parents Elsie and Benjamin Grissom and brothers Charles and Benjamin Grissom. She is survived by her three loving children Kelly Bambino (Christian), Clayton McCann (Angie) and Rebekah McCann, MD (Arturo Anaya), Grandchildren, Alexandria Bambino, Kevin Bambino, Derek Bambino, Benjamin Maston, Vivian Anaya, Aiyla McCann and Amelie McCann. Brother John Grissom (Mary). She also has several nieces and nephews whom she loved clearly. A celebration of life will be held at Calvary de Taos Church on October 12, 2024 @ 11:00am. Reception to follow at the residence of Mary Ann McCann.
