Marissa Valdez

Marissa Valerie Valdez of Ranchos de Taos, born January 15, 1998, passed away unexpectedly April 4, 2024. 

She is preceded in death by her aunt Esther Rivera, who was like a second mom to her; her grandparents Octaviano and Adelina Valdez of Vadito; uncles Billy Valdez of Vadito and Paul Valdez of Santa Fe; and aunt Carmen Valdez of Vadito.

Marissa is survived by her mother Yolanda Valerio and step father Manuel E. Valerio of Ranchos de Taos; her father Anthony Valdez of Velarde; brother Anthony Jacob Valdez “AJ” and sister Vanessa Valdez (Hector Pacheco); only nephew Armanni Pacheco; grandparents Orlando & Josephine Rivera; godparents Michael & Sharon Rendon, of Velarde; Nino Joseph Rivera, who was a dad figure to her, from Ranchos de Taos;  Tio Manuel Rivera, Tio Ben Rivera (Laurie), Tio Arthur Rivera (Bridgette), Tio Steve Rivera (Vangie) of Ocate, Tio Ray Rivera of Cañon, Tio Roberto Garcia (Carmen) of Albuquerque, uncle Alfonso Valdez (Jennie) of Rio Lucio, uncle Herbert Valdez (Bernie) of Vadito, aunts Beatrice Romero (Rolando), Angela Valdez (Jason), Isabelle Eichwald (Mike) Los Lunas, Anna Rose Sudomerski (Douglas); and godbrother Mark Rendon (Rebecca) of Velarde. 

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at 6pm at San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at 10am at San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church with burial to follow at the St. Francis Cemetery.  A meal will follow at the Llano Quemado Community Center.
