Maria M. "Mercy" Trujillo

Maria M. “Mercy” Trujillo age 89, a resident of Taos, NM passed away September 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Francisco and Eliza Quintana; stepfather Jose Maria Salazar; siblings Samuel Quintana (Emma), Eloy Quintana (Evelyn), and Angie Gonzales; mother & father-in-law Felipe & Maria “Lea” Trujillo; sister-in-law Flora Tafoya (Pete), brothers-in-law Rolando Trujillo, Pablito Trujillo, sons-in-law Norberto E. Vigil and David Chavez; daughter-in-law Anna M. Trujillo; and grandson Marcelo Enriquez. 

Mercy was blessed to have a loving family and she had a strong work ethic. She was employed by Kachina Lodge, Michael’s Kitchen (for many years), Michael’s Pizza, Taos Municipal Schools in the cafeteria and was also a “grandma” to many of the kids attending elementary. Additionally, Mercy worked at El Taoseño Restaurant and Ancianos for Taos County. 

She is survived by her husband Raymond Trujillo; children Paul Trujillo, Bobby Trujillo (Melba), Sandra Vigil, Theresa Chavez (Charlie), Raymond Trujillo (Wanda), Michael Trujillo (Charlene), Brenda Cordova and Christine Torres (Brian); granddaughters whom she considered as her own, Yvonne Trujillo (Dave) and Ashley Trujillo (Jerome); 41 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law Vito Trujillo (Diana), and sister Dolores Baca (John). 

Rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 6:00pm at San Francisco de Asís Catholic church. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 9:30am at San Francisco de Asís Catholic church. Burial will be held at a later date.
