Our beloved Maria Esperanza (Hope) Medina passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents Abenicio & Emilia Romero; her loving husband Fidel Medina; her siblings Nestor, Louise and Jimmy Romero, Maggie Valerio and her many pets.
Hope was born on May 11, 1935 in Llano Quemado, NM. She was married to Fidel Medina and joined him on his Air Force career and adventures. Through these adventures she lived in many States that she never thought she’d ever visit. She made many friends throughout the country and had different opportunities that these travels provided. After retirement from the Air Force with her husband, she returned home to Llano Quemado where she made her home and helped take care of her aging parents and in raising grandkids.
She is survived by her children Amy Garcia (Anthony), Francella Garcia (Jesse), Leo and Anthony Medina; grandchildren Maria, Ryan, Nathan, Antonio (Ben), and Kristiana Garcia; two great-grandchildren Liam and Luke; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Hope was a very active member of St. Francis Catholic church and served along with her husband as mayordomos there and her beloved Nuestra Capilla Señora del Carmen in Llano Quemado. She was a very active and proud member of the Guadalupanas, which she was honored to serve.
Gratitude goes out to all who helped while in her time of need.
Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 6:00pm at San Francisco de Asís Catholic church. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00am at San Francisco de Asís Catholic church, burial will follow at 1:30pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
