Marcia Fernandez

Marcia Fernandez, 47, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Taos, New Mexico. She was born on March 29, 1977, in Espanola, New Mexico. 

Marcia was a devoted mother to her children, Hugo Acosta (Lizzy), Marcos Acosta, Angelica Acosta (Angel), and Luciana Marin. She cherished her role as a grandmother and found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Her love extended to her sisters Julie Salazar (Carlos), Anabelle Cruz-Medrano, Juanita Marin-Casillas, and Jessica Marin. She also shared a close bond with her aunts Virginia and Clara and was deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucinda Salazar; father, Alfonso Fernandez; grandmother, Sinforosa Salazar; grandfather, Juan C. Salazar; sisters Louisa Salazar and Lucy Michelle Salazar; and uncles Dennis Salazar and Johnny Salazar. 

Marcia had an extraordinary ability to bring happiness to those around her. She always went the extra mile to ensure that the people she loved felt cared for and appreciated. Her presence radiated warmth and light, making every space she entered brighter. Those who knew her describe her as one of the purest souls to walk this earth—a true angel among us. 

Services are currently being planned to honor Marcia’s life. 

Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
