Lydia Evan Martinez resident of Arroyo Seco, entered into her eternal rest on October 9, 2023.  Lydia was born on May 11, 1932.

She is preceded in death by her parents Juan Pedro Martinez and Nicomedes Fresquez; her husband Manuel R. Martinez; son Rudy Martinez; grandson Joaquin Martinez; and son-in-law Andy Miera; brothers Benjamin, Bernabel (Pablita) and Jake Martinez; sister Juanita Romero (Tomas); 5 brothers-in-law and 6 sisters-in-law and their spouses.

Lydia is survived by her children Manuel (Patricia), Romaine Miera, Virginia Romero (Ray), Herbert (Melissa) and Edward; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; her Angel Caregivers, Lena Garcia-Dominguez and Pauline Martinez; brother-in-law Nabor Cortez and sisters-in-law Medalia Martinez, Nora Martinez Barela and Velma Martinez.

Lydia was a very strong woman who touched the hearts of many, with her generosity, her time and loving ways.  She was always willing to help others. Her family always came first.  She will be remembered for her delicious baked goods, her homemade bread, prune pies, and canned fruits and vegetables.  She would always offer her goods to those who visited her.

Rosary will be recited on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 9:00am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, burial will follow at the Arroyo Seco Cemetery.

Thank you is extended to the staff of Taos Home Care and Lina, Lori and staff of Mountain Home Health for the care they provided.
