Lucy Casias

In the early hours of October 14th, our beloved Lucy Casias passed away, peacefully joining her husband Paul who passed nine years before. She is survived by their four children Yvette, Reine, Marc and Tim. Lucy was also blessed with ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Although Lucy grew up on a small ranch in El Prado, she very much enjoyed the city life. Shopping and dining with her daughters in Albuquerque on any given weekend were always a favorite outing for Lucy. No doubt the 18 years she spent living in the San Francisco Bay Area influenced her elegant, yet modern style. While she loved to dress up and hit the town for a night of fun and lots of dancing, she also found serenity in the outdoors. Lucy loved spending time in the sun, tending to her yard and flower garden. Of the many things that brought Lucy joy, none more so than time with family and loved ones. To them she was “mom”, she was “grandma”, she was “auntie”, and she was “friend”. Lucy was a very spiritual and faithful person. She believed strongly in the power of prayer and encouraged her family to find their own relationship with God and to always find ways to nurture that relationship. She knew that our lives on earth were only a steppingstone to what was to come. So now, with the gates of Heaven open wide for our Lucy, we say farewell to her here on earth. Until we meet again…you will remain in our hearts and prayers. We love you always. 

Rosary will be recited on Sunday October 27, 2024, at 5pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be on Monday October 28, 2024, at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Dolores Cemetery.
