Lucille M. Tenorio

Lucille M. Tenorio, 81 of Taos passed away peacefully, September 10, 2023. She was born February 2, 1942, and lived in Taos nearly all her life. Lucille was best known as the “Bookstore Lady” having owned the Paperback Book Exchange near Taos Plaza. She was a strong advocate for literacy and STEM education. Lucille always welcomed her daughters’ friends and students as her own. She was the bonus mom and grandmother for many. She was also a caretaker for the sick and those preparing to transition to the next level. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Tenorio, brothers Lloyd and Walter Elze, and parents, Martin and Marian Elze. She is survived by her daughters Laura Tenorio and Leah Acosta (Mario), grandson, Indigo Acosta, sisters, Barbara DeBenedetto of CA, Betty Grubbs of AR, brother Ralph Elze of CA, and her precious furbaby, Furbi.
