On June 5, 2023, Lillian M. Vigil from Peñasco/Llano de San Juan, was called home to her eternal resting place. On this day, we lost a beautiful soul, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend.
Lillian is predeceased by her loving parents Eli and Martha Gonzales.
Lillian is survived by her children whom she loved beyond measure; Raymond Duran, Jr., Sharon White and Jesus Duran (Lorena); father of her children Raymond Duran (Linda); brothers Richard Gonzales (Teresa+), Gabe Gonzales (Norma) and Ricky Mondragon (Patty); sisters Faby Mondragon (Leo), Patsy Valdez (Marvin), Rachael Lopez (Fred), Martha G. Sanchez (Francisco) and Loyola Lopez; she is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she loved and cherished dearly.
Lillian will be remembered by many by her upbeat attitude, living life to its fullest, always cracking a joke or two, and giving anyone she met, the benefit of the doubt.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Staff of UNM Hospital and the Medical Team assigned to her care for their compassion, support and loving care. Additionally, to our family and friends who came to visit and spend time with her and speak their kind words.
Lillian will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
May you rest easy in grace, love and on the wings of Eternity.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11am, both at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco. A meal in her honor will follow at the Peñasco Community Center. Private burial will take place at a later date.
