Leroy Rodriguez

Leroy D. Rodriguez, AKA Ghost or Nicko, born on October 20th to Rodolfo and Gladys Rodriguez, lifelong resident of Rio Lucio, formerly living in Taos, passed away on March 8, 2025 unexpectedly.

Nicko was preceded in death by his father Rodolfo Rodriguez; infant brother Rodolfo Jr; son Matthew Lopez; nieces Rosella Rodriguez, Danelle Garcia; and brother-in-law David L. Gurule.

He is survived by sons Rocky (Janelle), Leroy “JuJu” (Sharon) and Andrew (Monique); grandchildren, Rocky Jr, Maricella (Danny), Adora Talia, Shawn and Andrew Jr; great-grandchild on the way; mother Gladys; sisters Evelyn Rodriguez, Marylou Garcia, Ramoncita Gurule, brothers Adrian and Norman (Elberta).

Ghost/Nicko was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was looking forward to being a great-grandfather. He was a very hard worker, carpenter, like his father and lately was doing masonry with his son Rocky. His work ethics were valued. He will be missed by everyone who loved him. Our hearts are broken. We’ll forever hold you close to our hearts.

Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11:00am, followed by Funeral Mass at 12:00pm at San Antonio de Padua Catholic church in Peñasco. Interment to follow at the Pacheco / Gurule Cemetery. A meal will follow at the Peñasco Community Center.
