Leonard “Larry” Bennett, 82, a resident of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2019, while visiting family in Taos, NM. He has begun life in his new and better heavenly home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ruth Bennett and in-laws, Jim and Thelma McCray. Larry and his wife Kay loved to travel, and often stayed in Taos with their daughter, Shelley. Larry loved serving in several local churches, most recently at Fellowship of the Rockies, loved the outdoors, loved to fish, and especially loved working in his garden. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Larry worked as a meat cutter throughout his entire career, always living and working in his hometown of Pueblo. He also worked part-time for many years in the Pueblo steel mill industry. Larry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kay Bennett; children Shelley White and husband Randy of Taos NM, Mark Bennett and wife April of Abilene TX; grandchildren, Hannah Graves and husband Jack of Stuart FL, Nathan White and wife Whitney of Taos NM, Austin, Andrew and Allie Bennett all of Abilene TX; great-grandchild Jackson Graves of Stuart FL, and two great-grandchildren on the way; and brother in-law Mike McCray of Pueblo CO, and nieces Tiffany and Tara of Denver, CO; along with other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held on December 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at The Fellowship of the Rockies Church in Pueblo, CO, with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Randy White Ministries or the Fellowship of the Rockies Zimbabwe Mission Trip.
