Leo Nico Mark Lujan, 1, a resident of Llano Quemado, passed away on November 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family after suffering from a rare neurodegenerative disease, called Tay-Sachs. Leo began his life as a healthy baby, but after a few months would not progress in development. He suffered as the disease progressed losing all motor skills along with his sight.
There are no words that can fully express our love and adoration for Leo. He was kind and gentle, he would laugh to his own amusement. Leo was the most perfect soul to ever grace this earth, we will continue to love and miss him every day until we meet again.
Leo is preceded in death by his great-grandparents Hipolito and Lila Romero, and Florenda Concha; numerous Great-Uncles and Aunts and special cousin who was like his Uncle Nicolas Romero.
Leo is survived by his Parents Sam & Mia Lujan; brother Sam Jr.; Grandparents Wayne & Rachel Romero, Lisa Fernandez and Brian Lujan; Great-grandparents Cel and Tina Torres, Manuel and Manuelita Fernandez, and Pat Lujan; Godfather (Nino) Andres Romero; Uncles Joaquin (Marcy), Emmanuel, Wayne Jr., Willow (Josephine), Justin, and Ian; Aunts Shara (Damien), Jamie (Greg), Iris (Laura), and Serenity; and many great-Aunts and Uncles and cousins.
The family would like to thank you for all the love and support that we have received from everyone.
Rosary was recited on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 3:30pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at 8am at San Geronimo Catholic Church at Taos Pueblo, burial followed at the Taos Pueblo Cemetery.
