Laurie Weathers

On May 2, 2022, Laurie Renetta Weathers was taken from us before her time.

Laurie was born on December 15th, 1975, in Taos, New Mexico. Laurie graduated from Taos Municipal Schools and attended the University of New Mexico.

Laurie started her dispatch career in Red River, NM. She also dispatched in Great Bend, Kansas as well as in Taos, NM. She was a hard-working woman and played many roles in the community. Laurie was loved by everyone who knew her and made friends everywhere she went.

Laurie was welcomed with love into heaven by her father, Urban Rafael Romero Jr; sister, Dina Grace; brother, Urban III; grandparents – Urban and Emily Romero & Meregildo and Grace Martinez; her aunties – Ruthie, Becky, & Geri.

She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Virginia, sons – Nicholas and Mason; nieces – Jasmine (Alex), Juliette (Randy), Jenna, Emily, Alexis, and nephew – Nathaniel; her great nieces; Chloe Kingery and Hazel Grace Baca (her god-grandbaby) as well as many other loving family members and treasured friends.

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held on Friday May 13th, 2022 at 10am at the Good News Christian Fellowship Church in Ranchitos with burial to follow at the Dolores Cemetery in El Prado, with a meal to follow at the Talpa Community Center.
