Karen "Karina" Leigh Fresquez

Karen ‘Karina” Leigh Fresquez, 50, a resident of Taos passed away peacefully on January 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Vito Fresquez and Eugenio Rael; great grandparents, Jesse J. and Mary R. Vigil and Manuel and Antonia Fresquez; aunts and uncles, Luis C. and Lydia Martinez and Senaida R. Vigil; cousins, Joseph M. Duran and Raul E. Montoya. Karen worked for over 20 years as a 911 dispatcher in Taos County. She loved what she did, and she loved all of her first responders dearly. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially loved spending time and hanging out with all her friends. She is survived by her mother, Diana Candelaria; brother, Jessie Candelaria; grandmother, Cecilia V. Rael, aunts and uncles, Marcella V. and Ernest S. Martinez who were also her godparents, Victor David Fresquez (Rita), Frances K. Montoya and (Eloyed); special cousins, Amanda and Vanessa Fresquez and Elisa Montoya; plus many other loving relatives and her cherished friends.
