Julianita Montoya

Julianita Montoya, 84 a longtime Vadito resident went to be with the lord on March 14, 2024 at Holy Cross Medical Center in Taos, NM.

Julianita was born December 24, 1939 in Vadito, NM to the home of Celedono and Maclovia Romero. She worked several years at La Tiendita in Las Trampas. Julianita ran her local shop Camino Real Arts & Crafts in Vadito for several years. Julianita was a housewife who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, loved to tend to her garden and indoor plants. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Nickolas Montoya, a daughter Sally Vela who she missed dearly (son-in-law Augustine Vela Sr.) of Vadito, NM: a brother-in-law Paul Dominguez; a nephew Ezekiel Dominguez; a grandson-in-law Julian Garcia.

Julianita is survived by her loving children a daughter Anita Fresquez and husband Randy of Vadito, NM; a son Manuel Montoya of Vadito, NM; Three grandchildren Augustine Vela (Linday), Maria Fresquez and Simone Fresquez (Sadie); Five great-grandchildren Lily, Augustine Vela, Ethan Segovia, Julian Garcia Jr., Julia, Simon Jr, and Nick Fresquez. Also surviving is a sister Fileberta Dominguez, along with nieces Angelica, Adelaida, Monica (Javier), Allegra (Joey) Dominguez along with several great-nieces and nephews. 

The family is holding a private ceremony on a later date and services are pending.
