Also, all of Susie’s family, her sisters, her brother, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; godchildren Kelly Santistevan, Wendy Cardenas Martinez and Ricky Davenport; all of my dad’s cousins; special cousin Becky (Joe); and lots and lots of friends.
My dad was a people loving, hardworking man who loved to visit with and check up on everyone to see how they were doing. He could remember everyone by name and also their family history. I just lost all that by not writing or recording when he told those stories. My dad always had a smile and a twinkle in his eyes. And the main thing he loved was his COWS. They were his pride and joy. He was one of a dying breed. A Cattle Rancher. Not many of those left anymore. He was still tending to his cows in September.
Special thanks to the staff from Mountain Home Healthcare and Hospice Department; Veterans Admin. Health Care (Taos Office), Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Department, and all the staff of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos; David Romero and James Alford for always helping my dad whenever he called them and said he needed help. Susie’s sisters for being there for my dad. Beverly Armijo for giving him advice; Earl Medina for watching football with my dad, the “bull jokes” between each other and the half cup of Heineken. As we said good night, every night when I called my dad, it went like this: “good night dad, LOVE, HUGS, CALL YOU TOMORROW” and I blew him kisses and he did the same. RIP my dad, my friend, my everything.
