Josie Espinoza, 84, died peacefully from natural causes November 08, 2024, at home in Albuquerque, NM. She was born March 22, 1940, in Taos, New Mexico, the daughter of Frank and Domitila (Gomez) Martinez.
Josie received an associate’s degree from New Mexico Highlands University in 1961. Josie happily married her husband Joe Espinoza of 36 years on April 7th, 1975. She was a compassionate caregiver for many years. She loved planting flowers, cooking her famous red chili, playing bingo and most importantly spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents Frank and Domitila (Gomez) Martinez, she was predeceased by husband Joe Espinoza. Josie is survived by her daughter Charlene Espinoza (Husband Darrell Lopez); granddaughters Alyssa and Gabrielle Tafoya; sister Rufina Martinez, brother-in-law Florenco Mondragon; niece Debbie Mondragon, nephews Richard and Frank Mondragon, along with many beloved family members and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 9:00am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12:30pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
