Joseph G Valerio, 62, of Ranchos De Taos went to be with the Lord July 28th, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents Amarante Valerio and Margarita Duran Valerio, brother Francis Valerio, sister-in-law Beatrice Valerio, father-in-law Horacio Tafoya, brothers-in-law Everette and Darryl Tafoya, uncle Tomas Duran, aunts Cecila Martinez, and Pacifica Romero, plus numerous nieces, and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Lindy Valerio, daughter Kimberly Valerio, grandson/buddy/best friend Aiden Valerio (his stinko). His surviving siblings include Tito (Janet) Valerio, Billy Valerio, Irma (David) Montoya, mother-in-law Rufina Tafoya, brother-in-law Dirk (Tisha) Tafoya, sisters-in-law Cora Tafoya, Yvette (Kenny) Madrid, Darlene Tafoya plus numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joseph served in the Air Force as a Jet engine mechanic. He also retired after 25 years with the Town of Taos where he served as the Street Superintendent and Landfill Manager. More recently he worked for Taos Gravel Products where he enjoyed meeting the customers which he would deliver gravel to. Joseph also loved going to yard sales with his stinko (grandson), teaching him about cars and just spending as much time as he could with him. He also enjoyed spending time in the mountains of Black Lake. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
