Jose Patricio Lopez

Jose Patricio Lopez age 86, a resident of Peñasco who lived in Questa, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Lopez; parents Juan Antonio and Maclovia Lopez; siblings Delfido Lopez, Ernestino Lopez, Liberato Lopez, Victor Lopez, Manuelita Sanchez, Louisa Lopez and Bertha Vigil.

Jose proudly served his county in the U.S. Army, after serving, he was employed by the U.S. Forest Service as a Civil Engineer Technician where he later retired from.  Jose was hard working and a very patient man.  He loved working outside and especially loved flowers.  He will be truly missed by all whose heart he touched.

Jose is survived by his children Patricio Lopez (Clara) and Loretta Duran; grandchildren Patricio J. Lopez, Ashley Lopez Crespin (David), Eric Lopez, Ryan Duran and Jazlyn Duran; his partner Roxanne Varela; stepchildren Roy Varela, Jr. (Louanna Cordova), and Nadine Varela; 5 step grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; siblings Emeterio Lopez and Louis Lopez, plus many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation and Rosary will be recited on Saturday November 20, 2021 at 5:00pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. Burial will be held on Wednesday December 15, 2021 at 11:00am at the Upper Chamisal Cemetery.
