Jose Max Tafoya

Jose Max Tafoya earned his angel wings on October 6, 2020.  His journey began on March 27, 1928 to Mardoqueo Tafoya and Cecilia Tafoya Candelario in Black Lake, New Mexico. Jose was preceded in death by the love of his life, Sophie Tafoya, his parents Mardoqueo and Cecilia Tafoya, his brother; Joe Tafoya, his sisters; Emily Padilla and Elevina Tafoya, and stepsons; Max and Sam Trujillo. Jose Max Tafoya is survived by his beloved children, Max Jr (Bernadette) Tafoya, Valerie Escalera, Maxine Vargas, Jeanie (Jose) Ontiveros, Kathy (Mike) Martinez, Margie (Ramon) Reyes, Dolores Tafoya, Priscilla Olguin, Sally (Bob) Acosta, Patsy Escalera (Ralph), Larry Trujillo and Deeann Trujillo; his siblings Rose Garcia, Juanita Hernandez, Horacio Tafoya (Rufina), Gilbert Tafoya (Orlanda), Ernest Tafoya (Martha), Richard Tafoya (Beth); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many loving relatives and friends.  Jose will be truly missed by all those who knew him.  A Celebration of his Life will be held on Wednesday October 14, 2020 at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Romero Funeral Home in Denver, CO.  Visitation will be held on Friday October 16, 2020 at 10:00am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos with burial to follow at the San Antonio Cemetery in Black Lake, New Mexico.  The family of Jose Max Tafoya has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos. www.devargastaos.com 1-866-657-4019
