Jacob Trujillo

Jacob Trujillo, age 37, passed away after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family. He is remembered by many for having a contagious smile and beautiful bluish green eyes. Jacob is survived by his children, Domino and Willow; his parents Rubeynn and George Trujillo; siblings Greg (Marisol) Trujillo, Anna Marie (John) Salazar, Alice Garcia and Tracy (Michael) Salazar; his nieces Sara-Alyssa, Samantha, Isabella, Miley, Shayne, Ryen & Denise; nephews Curtis (Rosie), Brian, Zack, Joe & Alex; great-nephews Ronan, Haiden & Yovanni; great-nieces Yaretzi & Yaneli; as well as many uncles and aunts and cousins. 

Jacob attended plumbing and electric trade school back in 2010 and received his diploma from the School for Integrated Academics and Technologies. He didn’t hold a job in the traditional sense, but rather he considered himself a handyman, helping his neighbors with various jobs and projects as best he could. 

Jacob had an eye for treasures, which reflected his ability to see the possibilities in something unexpected. He often gifted something unique to those he loved and cared for. He enjoyed treasures because it allowed him to bring joy as best he could to people in his life in ways he found memorable. One defining trait of Jacob was his desire to give to others. Often, Jacob was gifted items by his family, only for him see someone else in more need to whom he would then give what little he had, including those items he had just been gifted.

Jacob passed away on a Tuesday morning holding the hand of his sister AnnaMarie. His final days in hospice in Santa Fe were filled with immense love, prayer, compassion, and kindness. He got to (happily) see his nieces and nephews, lighting up every time he saw them. His sisters and mom got to love him and baby him, which was healing for all. He also got to spend quality time with his brother Greg and listen to his brother read him scripture and pray with him. His parents were able to affirm and reinforce their love to him and say goodbye to their baby. We are blessed and comforted to know Jacob no longer suffers and is finally at peace.
