Ida M. Chavez

Ida M. Chavez age 92, a resident of Llano Quemado, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on February 19, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband Victor L. Chavez; sisters Viviana Herrera, Roseann Romero, Alice Candelaria, Maria Mondragon and Clemaco Chavez.

Ida was a very loving woman, who cared dearly for her entire family.  She enjoyed going to the area casinos to gamble and to play bingo.  Ida was a devoted catholic and was a very generous person.

She is survived by her loving children Vera Martinez (Ben), Pauline Archuleta (Lee), Aldo Chavez, Prescilla Joseph (Julian), Rose Ann Suazo (Leonard), Sally Chavez, Kathy Martinez (Jeff),  and Matthew Suazo; grandchildren she raised Matthew Suazo, Jaylene Suazo, and Anthony Trujillo; Ida had over 100 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Surviving siblings include Teofilo Mondragon, Benina Olonia and Carmen Martinez, plus many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 6:00PM in the Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday February 27, 2020 at 9:00AM at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church.  Burial will be held on Thursday February 27, 2020 at 2:15PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
