Herman G. Torres, age 75, a resident of Arroyo Seco, passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ezequiel Torres and Sofia Pineda Muller, stepmother, Felicia Torres, and sister Nancy Trujillo.
Herman proudly served his country for over 20+ years in the U.S. Army in which he retired at the rank of Major and was a recipient of a Purple Heart Medal. He then worked for the U.S Postal service for 20+ years. He was a musician, woodworker, storyteller, traveler, and writer. But his greatest memories would have been when he was a sheep herder as a young boy.
He is survived by his children, Francisco Torres (Emily), Antonio Torres (Reina), and Maria Teresa Torres (Wayne Lucero); his beloved dog Guapo; grandchildren, Mariah Guzman (Vincent), Selena Rascon, Martina Lucero, Alisa Jonston (Chris), Ramon Torres and Armando Torres; great-grandchildren, Luis, Anissa, Elijah, Layla, and Joshua; his siblings, Michael Torres (Dee), Leroy Torres (Millie), Sandy Martinez (Phil), Diana Griego (Jimmy), Kelvin Medina, and Allen Medina, plus many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, relatives, and friends.
Rosaries will be recited on Wednesday November 8, 2023 at 6:30pm at Saint Therese of the Infant Child in Albuquerque, NM and Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 7pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Arroyo Seco. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Arroyo Seco with burial to follow at the Arroyo Seco Cemetery.
