Henrietta Visarriagas

On a beautiful Christmas morning, December 25, 2024, Henrietta Visarriagas joined her family in Heaven. Surrounded by her loving family, she departed this world for eternal rest. Henrietta was born in Taos, NM on April 22, 1950. 

She is predeceased by her mother Placida Cardenas; her brothers Presciliaño, Gilbert and Lorenzo Cardenas; her sister Eulogia “Jugi” Cardenas; her niece Veronica Cardenas; nephews William “Punky” and Michael Cardenas and Lorenzo “Tiny” Cortez. 

Henrietta was a loving soul, she would back you up whether you were right or wrong. She enjoyed playing bingo, she played softball in her younger days and was nick named the “heavy hitter”, hitting the softball over the fence various times. But most of all she babysat for many kids, some now college students and parents, that would also bring their kids to be babysat by her. Some of them visited her until her last days, to them she will always be Grandma Hen.

She is survived by her loving son Patrick (Julie); her granddaughter Sonya (Tyler) her pride and joy; her great-granddaughter McKailynn; and Sonya’s mother that took care of Hen in the end Brenda Pacheco; her sisters Marcella Cardenas, Fabiola Cortez and Sheila Martinez, her brothers Juan Valdez (Glenda) and Bernabe Visarriagas; special nephews Francisco Cardenas, Josh Yachinich (Rachel) and nieces Tomasita Ramirez, MaryAnn Cardenas (Bryan) and Jessica Cardenas (Juanito), Veronica Ramirez; sisters-in-law Zilpha Gatlin, Goniva and Epimenia Cardenas; plus many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. 

Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 9:00am, Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am, both held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
