Gloria Arlean Romero

Gloria Arlean Romero, 79, from Kingman, AZ, formerly of Taos, passed away at home on August 5, 2024 with her loving daughters by her side. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hacel and Edna Mae Holmes; sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Doc Driskell; and her son-in-law, Doug Bryant.

Arlean had an amazing work ethic, which made her thrive at any job she had, but she found her true calling when she became a dispatcher for the Taos County Sheriff’s Office, and later, Taos Central Communications. If you knew her, you know she kept an immaculate house, as well as her yard, and to this day, they both held true. She thoroughly enjoyed being out in the yard keeping everything just so. She moved to Kingman to be near her daughter Missy, and she wanted some warmer weather. (She got it!) Although mostly a homebody, she had some wonderful neighbors she enjoyed chatting with over the fence. She is going to be missed more than words can say. 

Arlean is survived by her daughters who loved her immensely, Terri “Missy" Bryant of Kingman, and Tammie Romero of Taos; Granddaughter Kathleen Bryant, of Carson City, NV; Brother Sherman “Butch" Holmes (Lorra); nephews Russ (Bonnie), Jamie (Carmen), Weldon (Yvett) Driskell, Sherman (Sarah) and Jason Holmes, nieces Tisha (Charlie) Williams and Shawn Martinez; as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 10:00am, with interment to follow at the Sierra Vista Cemetery.
