Elma Chavez 75, a resident of La Cordillera, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life Cruz Chavez; her son Cruz G. Chavez, II; grandson Andres Chavez; parents Hernando & Mercedes Jaramillo; brother Lawrence Jaramillo; nephew Brad Jaramillo; in-laws George and Manuelita Chavez; and sister-in-law Loretta DeHerrera; nieces and nephews George Paul Salazar, Fran Chavez, Antonia Mares and Nikolas Martinez.
Elma is survived by her son Hernando Chavez (Jacquelyn); grandchildren Cruz Chavez, III (Suzie), Marcus Chavez (Audrea), Isaiah Chavez, Mateo Chavez (Ruth), Alexis Chavez, Ariana Medina, Augustine Chavez, Braelyn Quintana, Isaiah Quintana, Ava Chavez, Leyah Chavez, and Ezekiel Chavez; great-grandchildren Marikah Chavez, Sienna Chavez, Gianna Chavez, Jacob Chavez, Easton Chavez; daughter-in-law Renee Yepez; siblings Marilyn Jaramillo, Sandra Jaramillo (Ben Bowles), Bob Jaramillo (Martha), Bernie Jaramillo (Geraldine), Edwin Jaramillo (Arla), and Vince Jaramillo; sister-in-law Evangeline Jaramillo; special relatives who were very close to Elma, Lupe and Mike Anaya, Cecilia Valdez, Sylvia Martinez, Chris & Mary Lou Chavez and Jonnea Trujillo; plus many more loving relatives and cherished friends.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 6:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00am, both at San Francisco de Asís Catholic church, with burial to follow at Los Cordovas Cemetery.
