Eliseo Pacheco

Eliseo "Lee" Beltran Pacheco, age 88, died peacefully in his home on April 26, 2023, after a prolonged illness. He was surrounded by his family who loved him. Eliseo was born at home on January 14, 1935 in Monte Aplanado, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Moises and Pirillia Pacheco, his son Eliseo Pacheco Jr., and his 3 brothers, Jose Maria Pacheco (wife Ida), Damian Pacheco (wife Nina), Max Pacheco (wife Elvira), sisters Mariquita Gallegos (husband Amadeo), Adelina Martinez (husband Samuel), Rosita Serna (husband Ernesto), stepchildren Rosemary Marquez (husband Archie), and Frank Martinez.

He is survived by his wife Tina Pacheco, his brother Moises Pacheco (wife Marcella); daughters Vicki Weaver (husband Chuck), Veronica Pacheco, and son Vincent Pacheco (wife Julie); stepchildren Paul Martinez (wife Debbie), Jeanette Martinez (Alex), Debbie Martinez, and Lori Martinez. He had 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his good friends and neighbors Joe and Veronica Mares. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and their respective families. 

Eliseo joined the army in 1957 and served 6 months as part of a recruitment program. He worked in construction all his adult life. During his career, he was a project supervisor with La Mesa Builders as well as an independent contractor and was instrumental in building gymnasiums in Mora, Pecos, Taos, Springer, Mesa Vista and an armory in Raton. Eliseo enjoyed visiting with his big family, going to casinos, fishing, hunting, and dancing. 

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church in Mora, NM, on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00am with a meal to follow at the Mora VFW (1 mile south of town). A private family burial will be conducted at a later date.
