Dorothy Ann Montoya 

Dorothy was born in 1928 to Marcos and Mabel Romero and raised in Llano Quemado surrounded by her large and loving family. 

After marrying Joe in 1950 she raised her family of eight, choosing to stay home until her younger children were teenagers. It was after that she began working in the kitchen of the Taos Holy Cross Hospital for many years. Dorothy loved to travel she loved painting but most of all she loved her family. She made it a point to be in attendance for every milestone in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe Montoya; her eldest daughter Joanne; and her granddaughter Samantha.  

She is survived by her sons Marc (Maxine), Lawrence, Jacob, Jerome and her daughters Janett, Julie (Glen), and Jessica (Cesar), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandson. 

We loved spending time with our mom (grandma). She was the heart of our family.

We will never forget her love, her strength and her sense of humor. We will miss her every day, our hearts are broken.  

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:00am in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, burial will follow at the Pacheco Cemetery.
