It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of a wonderful father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. David McCullough left our earthly presence on October 9, 2024.
David was born in 1967 in Arlington, TX a graduate of Sam Houston High and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UNM. Upon graduating from UNM he moved to Taos, NM where he was a part of the skiing and rafting community. David was an outstanding athlete with a competitive drive that crossed over into many disciplines in his life. Such as his love for the Dallas Cowboys. David was also a fixture on the yard sale circuit picking art and unique objects most Saturdays of the year, a habit he started as a young man in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. During his time in Albuquerque while attending UNM he would often sell at the Albuquerque flea market. David continued to hone his skill throughout the years under the guidance of David Cook, Mark Hooper and so many others in the art and antiquities business. David was instrumental in the recognition of Anna Keener, helping to get a monograph published. He loved music with a fever, blues, New Orleans funk, reggae, new wave and rock -n- roll he spent time as DJ Red Bean with KNCE. David was a bright light in the lives of all who met him. We will miss his laugh, quick wit, helping hands and knowledge of all thing’s music, art and sports. He was an all-American kind of guy whose friends and family came first.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Daisy Lindsey, Eugene and Dorothy McCullough; father William Jewel McCullough; brother William Lindsey “Tige” McCullough; and niece Ashley Peznell.
