David Archuleta

David “Rocky” Archuleta born June 11, 1972, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his father Tommy Archuleta; maternal grandparents Tomas and Dora Gonzales; paternal grandparents Berlamino and Anne Archuleta; Godparents Fred and Angel Trujillo; Uncle Joe G. Maestas; cousins Timothy and Jay Maestas.

David was known to many as Rocky, a kindhearted man, would give his shirt off his back to help his cousins.  He always felt as having to be the family protector, watching over all of us.  If you needed help, he was right there no questions asked.  He looked forward to seeing his cousin Helen Archuleta and she would make it a point to call him, cook for him and just made sure he was okay.  He loved his low-rider car shows and magazines.  He had a lot of projects he wanted to accomplish, but time ran out.  Rocky will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother Dianna Portillo (Manuel), daughter Carissia Archuleta (Marcos), brother Tracy A. Archuleta (Eileen); niece Miranda Archuleta (Margarito)  uncles, Roger Archuleta and Art Gonzales (Rose), aunts Nora Maestas, Lorella Salazar, Annette Vigil, Louisa Romero (Ruben), Gloria Trujillo (Veltran), Cecilia Montano (Gary); cousins Serafin Vigil (Rhonda), Andreita Vigil, Francisco Salazar, Nicole Garcia (Deric), Brittany Gonzales, Yolanda Ryan (Tim), Dede Teter, plus many more cousins, relatives and friends.

With a heavy heart, we all say God Bless you and may you rest in peace surrounded by your loved ones in heaven

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020 at 9:00AM in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos, followed by burial at the Las Cruces Cemetery.
