D'Aaron Le Blanc

d. June 9, 2023

D’Aaron Brecheen LeBlanc, 59, resident of Taos, New Mexico, died June 8, 2023, surrounded by her family at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos.

She was a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born May 2, 1964 and was a graduate of Broadmoor High School, Class of 82.  She was retired from the family business, Brecheen Pipe & Steel Co., where she helped the company grow and prosper for over 30 years.

D’Aaron met her future husband, Kerry, in 1987, and they were married in June of 1988.  They had 35 wonderful years doing everything together.  She always said, “Kerry and I are joined at the hip”.  Kerry said it worked out because he didn’t mind her constant talking, and she didn’t mind his constant burping.  They raised two kids in Baton Rouge.  Keeping them loved, clean, and fed, until they were finally able to leave the house and go out on their own.  D’Aaron missed them terribly but was happy with less laundry to do.

D'Aaron was an artist, musician, and wonderful cook, with a very outgoing personality.  She was full of love for everyone and always knew what to say to make one feel good.  She knew her friend’s zodiac signs and birthdays and always kept in touch with phone calls and little gifts.  She had southern hospitality and opened her door to anyone as her motto was “be nice or leave”.  She played her drums very loud and often had the cops called on her for disturbing the peace.  Her favorite method of getting bandmates attention during band practice was to throw a drumstick at them, however, not in a manner that would cause injury.

She favored the years spent involved with the Baton Rouge Spanish Town Mardi Gras, becoming queen in 2006 - a time we will never forget.  She lived in the moment and created beauty everywhere she went, surrounding herself with flowers, art, and music.  D’Aaron and Kerry moved to Taos in 2018, she loved her new home and surroundings, always saying “it’s like walking around in a painting”.  Well, now we know, she was the painting, walking around us!

D'Aaron is survived by her husband, Kerry W. LeBlanc; son, Ryan A. LeBlanc and wife Camille of Tempe, AZ; daughter, Kristen G. LeBlanc of Albuquerque, NM; grandsons, Baptiste, Jerome and Lazare LeBlanc; and sister, Danielle Brecheen of Baton Rouge, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Gail Brecheen.

As per D’Aarons request, there will be only a Memorial Service, date yet to be determined.

The family of D’Aaron Brecheen LeBlanc has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  866-657-4019 www.devargastaos.com
