Clarence J. Mascareñas, a resident of El Valle, NM passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, October 5, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Naomi; and his parents Elizardo and Filomena Mascareñas.
Clarence is survived by his children Bobbie Mascareñas, David Romero (Atira), Margie Romero and Cindy Jackson (Peter); granddaughters Lyndsay Flowers (David Towne) and Kaleigh Flowers; great-grandchildren Haley Flowers, Dylan and Noah Towne; his sister Ruth Ortega (Demetro) and many nieces and nephews.
Clarence worked alongside his father as a young boy logging trees and tending to cattle in the high mountains of Taos County. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from the Fire Department in Boulder, Colorado as a Lieutenant. Clarence enjoyed fishing, had a brilliant talent to design and build custom rock fireplaces. He enjoyed working on different projects in his garage and had a knack for fixing anything. He was a man of many jokes and stories that he enjoyed sharing with everyone he spoke to. Clarence had a strong faith in his Lord and was a member of the Dixon Seventh Day Adventist church.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday October 14, 2021 at 3pm in the Evergreen Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, burial will follow at the El Valle Cemetery.
