Charlotte A. Lopez-Taylor

d. August 26, 2021

We are saddened to report the passing of Charlotte A. Lopez-Taylor on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Charlotte grew up in Taos with her parents Mariano and Molly Lopez; sisters Pauline and Vangie; brother Eddie. She was a proud member of the Taos High School Class of 1959 and double graduate of New Mexico Highlands University in 1989 and 1991. Late in life, she served Taos County as the Foster Care Coordinator and Court Advocate for many children, youth and families.

Charlotte was transported from Taos Holy Cross Hospital on August 10th to UCH Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO for emergency surgery. She was admitted at the Healthcare Resort of Colorado Springs Assisting Living after surgery for rehabilitation. Days later, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Her tired, little body could no longer continue with the recovery process. So, heaven opened its gates, angels flew down to retrieve her, and now she shall forever be in peace, and protect us from above.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Bobby, and two grandsons Tre and Thad. She requested a private burial service at the Taylor family plot in Sierra Vista Cemetery in Taos. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor this fall, where she requests all family, friends, former co-workers, and community members to gather in fellowship to love and respect one another, live life to the fullest, laugh out loud, and be grateful for each blessing in life.

The family of Charlotte A. Lopez-Taylor has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home of Taos.  866-657-4019 www.devargastaos.com
